Sandara Park Experienced Earthquake In Japan

On March 11 this year Japan experienced a terrifying 8.9 earthquake. And followed by a powerful tsunami that hit the city of Sendai that killed thousands of people. On that day Sandara Park and other members of 2NE1were in Japan to guest on a music show. They were in the 34th floor of the hotel when the tragedy happened. Sandara said, she was very shocked and her body was shaking even until she got back to Korea.

I am a great fan of Sandara since she was still in the Philippines and until now. I am glad that she and her bandmate got back in Korea safely. They experienced too much trauma and i hope they can recover soon.

Life is a change. It keeps on changing even if we don't like it. We always ask ourselves what is change and why its happening? Change happens all the time, in many aspects of life. We all know that the only constant change is death. That's true and no one can stop that. It is part of life and part of everyone of us. Sometimes we are scared of change. We are doubt about it and we even scared about it. People change for the better. We always try to. But sometimes change didn't give us a good feedback. Sometimes we do change but its failure. But no matter what, change is a part of life and we have to deal with it. We change for the better. Better life, love, success and better in all things we have. So why scared of change?

What are the reasons for the change? Who or what is causing it? Why is it important?

Change is often prompted by social factors. Getting engaged or married comes from a deep desire to share a life of love and partnership. Changing careers is usually motivated by wanting to improve income or gain prestige. Buying a new house becomes a must for the growing family. A simple change of hairstyle or wardrobe sometimes stems from an inner need to boost self-esteem. Whatever the need for change that faces you at the moment, understand the reasons and why they are important.

What are the things I cannot be sure about right now? Can I do something about them now?

If your answers are vague, confused, or simply "I don't know", then you're OK. As certain as change is in this existence, so is the uncertainty that goes with it. Right? Change is accompanied by uncertainty. And everyone is uncomfortable with uncertainty. But not knowing if your fiance' will eventually hurt you should not stop you from loving him and walking down the aisle with him. Because no one can ever be sure. To accept the discomfort of facing the unknown as part of change is one major step in accepting change.

What are the advantages? What will I gain? And what are the disadvantages? What will I lose?

Now it's time to write down the answers. Yes. Write them down because as long as you do not see them numbered in front of you, they will all be jumbled and totally unmanageable and extremely stressful to deal with while they're all swimming in your head. Two columns: Advantages/Gain, Disadvantages/Lose. Be honest. Before you make the leap, try to know and understand, with all the available information, what you are really dealing with. This will definitely give you some peace of mind.

Where I Am Now

I know, i know i havent tell everyone where i am now. Have not blog anything about it yet i guess. Well, for those who wants to know where i am now, i am here in Loviisa, a small town in Finland. Ive been here since January 18, 2011. Everything goes fine here. I had planned to stay here for a month only with my boyfriend. But yesterday i applied for a resident permit and i cant go to other countries or even come home to Philippines because my passport is in the police. Which means i can stay here more than a month while they process my residence permit. And if they approve that permit, that means i can stay here longer a year or even more or forever who knows.

Im so glad to be here. I love this place so much. People are nice, sorroundings are clean and no traffic at all. I like it like so much. It is simply beautiful and so peaceful. Its winter here and so cold. Everywhere is full of snow and ice. And its terribly cold for a stranger like me. But im getting used to it. I am here two weeks already. Glad to say i have no more jetlag and have been adjusted the cold weather a bit. Although i am still wearing socks even at home hehehehee... i know its crazy.

Chocolate Gingerbread Sandwich Cookies

INGREDIENTS

Cookies

3 tablespoons sugar

1 roll (16.5 oz) Refrigerated Gingerbread Cookies

1/4cup baking cocoa

Filling

2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup butter, softened

1teaspoon vanilla

3 to 4 teaspoons milk

DIRECTIONS:

1Heat oven to 350°F. In small bowl, place sugar.
2In large bowl, break up cookie dough. Stir or knead in cocoa until well blended. Shape dough into 36 (1-inch) balls. On ungreased cookie sheets, place balls 2 inches apart. Press each flat, with smooth-bottomed glass dipped in sugar.
3Bake 6 to 9 minutes or until cookies are set. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 20 minutes.
4In medium bowl, beat filling ingredients with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Spread about 2 heaping teaspoons filling between bottoms of pairs of cooled cookies.

How To Make Wedding Bouquet

Things Needed:

Variety of Florals

Scissors or Pruning Sheers

Floral Wire
Floral Tape
Ribbon
Glue Gun

Directions:

1. Gather Tools. Cut the ends of the stems on a 45 degree angle with the proper flower tool or scissors so as to not damage stems and give them a fresh cut prior to beginning so they get a good drink of water. If possible, cut stems under water.

2. Remove Foliage. Remove the thorns, and any foliage off the bottom half of the stems before you begin.

3. Lay your flowers out on the table, blooms facing toward you. Start off with the largest flower to form the center. Hold the stem between your thumb and first finger on the left hand, about 6-8 inches from the base of the flower head.

4. Now with your right hand, add about 4- 6 stems to frame your center flower, evenly and just below the flower head to help fill in the bouquet, criss-crossing the stems on an angle and rotating the bouquet as you work. The goal is to create a point where all the stems cross each other.

5. Point the blooms toward you as you work — not the stems. Continue to hold the bouquet and place 5-6 stems of the same type of flowers evenly around, turning the bouquet clockwise, and inserting the stems at a 45 degree angle. Continue adding flowers for the next round, arranging these flowers slightly lower. Keep the bouquet a gentle rounded shape across the top. Criss-cross all the stems, and give the bouquet a quarter turn clockwise after adding a few stems. Secure stems in place with floral tape.

6. Continue adding flowers and foliage stems, turning the bouquet around clockwise until the bouquet is the desired size. Secure all your stems together with floral tape, winding it firmly around several times in the same place as before.

7. Cut the ends off the flower and foliage stems, so they are about 6-8 inches long and all the same length. Spray lightly everything with water. Finish off the bouquet by wrapping a length of wide ribbon around the stems to cover the tape.

8. You will want to keep the bouquet in water over night and in a cool place. Preferably a refrigerator, just be careful not to let the flowers hit the edge of the shelves as it will cause them to turn brown.

Honey Barbecue Pork Roast with Carrots

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 lb boneless pork loin roast or sirloin roast, trimmed of fat

1/3 cup barbecue sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 boxes (10 oz each) Green Giant® frozen honey glazed carrots, thawed

DIRECTIONS

Spray 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In cooker, place pork roast. In 1-cup measuring cup, stir together barbecue sauce, honey, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, ginger and pepper; pour over pork.
Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 to 7 hours.
Place carrots around pork. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook about 30 minutes longer or until carrots are crisp-tender. Remove pork from cooker to cutting board with slotted spoon. Cut pork into slices; place on serving platter. Top pork with sauce and carrots.

INGREDIENTS

Crust

box Pillsbury® refrigerated pie crusts, softened as directed on box

Filling*

6cups thinly sliced, peeled apples (6 medium)

3/4 cup sugar

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 tablespoon lemon juice

DIRECTIONS:

Heat oven to 425°F. Place 1 pie crust in ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate. Press firmly against side and bottom.
2In large bowl, gently mix filling ingredients; spoon into crust-lined pie plate. Top with second crust. Wrap excess top crust under bottom crust edge, pressing edges together to seal; flute. Cut slits or shapes in several places in top crust.
3Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Cover edge of crust with 2- to 3-inch wide strips of foil after first 15 to 20 minutes of baking to prevent excessive browning. Cool on cooling rack at least 2 hours before serving.

Nutritional Guidelines For You And Your Kids

All of us human need nutrition in order for us to stay healthy. It is good for us to eat a balance diet everyday. And have enough rest too.

Below are the nutritional guidelines that we should follow and practice everyday.

1. Eat a variety of foods everyday. Not just any kind of foods to eat. But foods that has higher nutritional value. Select fortified foods if possible.

2. Maintain children's normal growth through proper diet and monitor their growth regularly. Take care of the increase nutritional needs of adolescents by giving adequate meals to prepare them for adulthood.

3. Eat fish, meat, poultry and dried beans. It helps meet some nutrient deficiencies in your body. For vegetarian, legumes, dried beans and nuts is also good.

4. Eat more vegetables, fruits and root crops. Include root crops in your meals at least three times a week.

5. Eat at least two servings of fruit daily. One serving should be a vitamin C- rich fruit.

6. If possible, cook your food with edible/ cooking oil. To increase energy intake of diet. Limit your intake of cholesterol, saturated fats and fatty meats if you have a heart disease.

7. Drink milk everyday to gain more calcium in your body. Other foods that contain calcium are small fishes, sardines, soy bean, small shrimp and green vegetables like malunggay, saluyot, alugbati and mustasa.

8. Use iodized salt but avoid excessive intake of salty foods to help prevent hypertension.

9. Make sure you eat the clean and safe foods. Drink safe water.

10. Exercise regularly. Do not smoke and avoid alcoholic beverages.

Live life to the fullest. Stay healthy all the time and enjoy life.

I wanted her to win. I really thought she will win. And I was surprised to know that Lee won. Well, Lee was good too. A very good looking guy that seems so sweet and quiet. He has a nice voice too. I had a doubt who will win. And then I realized maybe Lee will win because he has many fans than Crystal. Then, my guess was right.

Sometimes I feel sad and bored. Sometimes happy and inspired. Just like now, I feel alone and no one to run to. I have to admit that i really miss my sister now. And i hate being alone at home now. It seems crazy for me to have this kind of feeling. I am sometimes love being alone. But this time being a loner is not a wants anymore. I want someone here to talk. To lean on when i have problems and to eat with each meal. I am sad because all i do is talk to the computer. Alone at home is not good and not interesting anymore. I really my little sister who was there always. Who makes me laugh, sometimes gives me headache. I need someone to spend time too.

So today I was looking around for ballheads for my monopod and browsing Markins website. They seem to have a good product, very light weight and with a weight rating much more then some larger ball heads out there. It would seem that this was the product for me, so I selected the configuration from the drop down menu (Markins Q-Ball Q3 Emille with Knob Release (Black)) then noticed something strange. The price was USD $289.99 but showed (CAD $314.99), even though as of today the currency conversion is 1.00 USD = 0.999650 CAD which would translate to USD$289.99 = $289.889 CAD. Hoping to clear up some confusion, I sent Markins an email inquiring as to why the conversion was so inaccurate. I’ve copied my exact email below:

“Just curious why your currency conversion is so incaccurate?

USD $289.99 (CAD $314.99) this conversion is horribly off, as of today 1.00USD = 0.999650 CAD, there fore, USD$289.99 = $289.889 CAD, which is almost even.. Why are you charging Canadians so much more?”"

Within a matter of minutes I had a response, albeit a very uninformative one, this was what was in the response:

“So please enlighten me, why the added cost to Canadian customers? It would seem as though you have something against Canadians, otherwise an increase in shipping would be in place, no?”

“Thank you for clarifying the disdain Markins has for Canadians, I’ll be sure to spread the word ”

I don’t know exactly what Markins has against Canadians, but this surely says something about them and their feelings for us Canadians, otherwise, why would they not just charge in one currency, USD? Why would this representative not try to explain their reasoning? I mean that is what the majority of online companies do, and if they show a currency conversion, it’s just to give you an idea of the current dollar values by retrieving a live market currency rate, so although they will charge you in one currency (usually USD) they will inform you of the rate of conversion. To be honest, I’m feeling insulted right now, I can’t believe the audacity of this company trying to charge more for their products if the customer is from Canada. I for one will not stand for this type of treatment, I will never consider purchasing any of their products, and I will discourage anyone else from doing business with them as well. So please, to all who read this, please forward this message, or link to it and spread the word, Markins is taking advantage of Canadian customers in a very unethical business practice ,and we must put a stop to this type of treatment. The only way we can stop this type of treatment though, is to stand together and boycott this company until our point is made. They must treat their customers fair and as equals or we as a people must unite against this prejudiced company, so I ask of you all, do not purchase from Markins, let them know that we won’t stand for this type of treatment!

Today April 27, 2010 is the Kadaugan sa Mactan Festival. It is celebrated every year to honor Lapu Lapu who won the fight against Ferdinand Magellan hundred years ago.
It is known to be celebrated in Cebu, Philippines in the month of April as the defeat of Magellan by Lupa Lupa is re-enacted annually at the beach of Barangay Mactan where the event had actually taken place (Mactan Shrine).

The 3 ships of Magellan are represented by the bancas or canoes and they are made to lead a river procession up to the beach. It is then followed by the re-enactment of the planting of the Magellan's Cross leading to the final act of Lapu-Lapu's victory. Kadaugan sa Mactan also means the 'Victory of Mactan'. It was also called Bahugbahug sa Mactan or 'Melee at Mactan' when it was initially staged in 1981. The exact time of the commencement of the festival mostly depends on the tidal conditions. This festival is mostly celebrated on the 27th of April. This festival grants the Cebuano people a good opportunity to re-visit the days of Mactan Battle between Magellan and Lapu-Lapu and also to celebrate their history and events.

This year's celebration the guy who will act as Lapu Lapu is no other than the actor Philip Salvador.

Last Friday, me and my sister went to the church to attend the mass and to kiss Jesus Christ cross. After the mass, the procession started. It was such a long walk. Two hours of walk while praying the rosary. I can't imagine how many people joined the procession. A thousands of people joined the celebration. Filipinos really are so faithful and very religious. I was glad and heart fulfilled that I was able to attend that kind of activities. Holy Friday where Jesus dead and crucified. I can feel the pain and the sacrifices he made to save us.In a two hours walk i got my feet swollen. We were so tired and wanted to surrender. But I realized why can't i do this when God really did? So me and sis made it till the finish line- the church.

What about you guys? What did you do last Friday? I know we have different religion. Does anyone here a Catholic one?

Anyway, it's Sunday. God has risen. We are saved. We must be grateful.

Mandaue Fire Loses 10 Homes

Yesterday early morning when I was at work, a friend of mine texted me telling me there's a big fire in our place. At first I didn't believe her because I thought she was only joking. But then one of my colleague heard the news over the radio and told me right away. That the fire is really so near in our place. Located at Kamangahan, Tabok, Mandaue. That's exactly where I live. I was worried and kinda panic. So I went home to check.

On my way home, I was so scared and worried. Full of what if's... What if our house is one of the houses that were burned already. When will we go after this and that. My mind was full of dirty thoughts.

When I finally reached home, I was so thankful and happy that our house was safe and wasn't included. I cried and pray. According to one of my housemates, good thing the firemen were able to control the fire soon as they can. There was only one house left before our house. If that house was also taken by the fire then for sure our house will be the next.

Anyway, the fire losses 10 houses and destroyed approximately 1 million worth of properties. The cause of the fire was electric short circuit. I hope everyone will be more careful next time.

What would I say about her? Oh well she's pretty, lovely, witty and so gorgeous. She's only in her teen years but she seem so successful already. She has a great sweetest cute voice that I like so much. Her songs inspired me so much. The "Love Story" song is my personal favorite. It's cute. Truly expresses the fairy tale love story. And I can relate with it. I really love it. Other songs that I like are "You Belong With Me, Tim McGraw and the latter. Well, all her songs are great. I love playing her albums on my DVD while relaxing in my room.

Ivler's Mother Blames 'violent' Past

By reading this news, I totally understand what's Jayson Ivler real case. I have heard about this on radio and TV and never understand, just until now.

MANILA, Philippines - Much has been said about Jason Aguilar Ivler's allegedly violent outlook towards authority since his arrest last Monday over the murder of a Palace official's son.

His mother, Marlene Aguilar Pollard, admitted as much on Thursday when asked how Ivler views the Philippine government. "He hates the Philippine government. He has absolutely no respect for the Philippine government," she told reporters.

On Friday, Aguilar revealed that their present ordeal is the direct result of their family's violent past.

Born in Massachusetts on Jan. 7, 1982, Ivler is the firstborn of Aguilar and her first husband, Robert Ivler, whom Marlene met in the Philippines.

Aguilar said Jason and his younger brother, Colby, lost their father when they were still very young.

"My husband was found dead in a chair, inside a hotel in Bangkok. He was killed by a professional killer," she said.

Since Jason was only 2 1/2 when his father died, Aguilar did not tell him about his father's death until Jason was older.

She also confessed that she had various affairs before marrying Stephen Pollard, an economist who works as consultant for the Asian Development Bank and Ivler's current stepfather.

She said among her former lovers were a Colombian arms dealer and a wanted criminal who is now serving time in the United Kingdom.

Aguilar said Jason always treated her with gentleness and is a far cry from his brother, Colby, whom he described as hard-headed. She claimed that Jason was a dean's lister at the Hawaii Pacific University where he studied AB Psychology.

"They are extremes. Jason and Colby are both geniuses. When I see Jason, I see heaven. Colby, I call him Saddam, Damien, Hannibal, because everytime I see him, my blood pressure goes up. Lapastangan yan. He drives me totally nuts. I love him. But Jason is the exact opposite. He never raised his voice to me," she said.

A history of violence

It was during his break from school in 2004 when Ivler was involved in the first traffic accident involving a Malacañang official. Ivler was driving his stepfather's Toyota Land Cruiser, which bore diplomatic plates, when he rammed into the car owned by Presidential Undersecretary for Resettlement Nestor Ponce Jr.

Ponce was killed in the accident while his wife and driver survived.

A Philippine National Police (PNP) press statement issued August 2004 said Ivler was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide for Ponce's death.

Reports said Ivler, who was then out on bail, was nabbed in Zamboanga City with two police escorts while trying to catch a ferry bound for Malaysia. The attempt to leave the country despite a pending criminal case prompted the Bureau of Immigration to issue an order preventing him from leaving the country.

Ironically, Ivler was still able to join the US Army on Feb. 15, 2007 despite a pending warrant for his arrest in the Philippines.

Readers of abs-cbnNEWS.com said Ivler served as an Infantryman (11 series) with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii, with the rank of specialist (E-4). A year later, he was discharged under honorable conditions on Oct. 16, 2008.

In Aguilar's book "Warriors of Heaven", she described how Ivler was arrested by US authorities and pressured to admit things about his family.

A year after leaving the US Army, Ivler again ran afoul of the law when he allegedly shot and killed Renato Victor Ebarle Jr., son of Presidential Chief of Staff Undersecretary Renato Ebarle Sr., on November 18 during a traffic altercation.

He went into hiding for 2 months until his arrest by National Bureau of Investigation operatives in a bloody shootout last January 18.

Despite the ordeal, Aguilar said she has only one wish for her son. "That all of these will end peacefully and we will live peacefully," she said."

Sinulog is a nine-day fiesta celebration in honor of Sto. Nino. The celebration entails two major activities: the religious procession on a Saturday and the grand street parade the following day.

Organized by the Augustinian order, the solemn procession in Honor of the Child Jesus is basically the same manner as of the other religious processions in the Catholic Church. It begins in the church and ends in the church.

Millions of pilgrims and devotees of Sto. Nino flock the streets going to the Basilica bringing with them candles and
rosaries as they respond to the holy rosary which is spoken in different languages.

Parishioners from different parishes, business sectors, colleges and universities, government officials, archdiocesan organizations and all sectors in the Cebuano community, including group of friends,
families and relatives join together in honoring the patron saint.

The solemn procession route may vary every year to cater to other barangays who were not visited by the Child Jesus the other year and also depending on the estimated number of devotees participating the event.

After the procession a high mass is going to be celebrated.

Immediately after the mass, performing the Sinulog dance is recommended for those who have petitions. Many people believe that their hopes in life are answered by dancing the Sinulog after the solemn procession. A dancer must have his or her own candle for dancing. Dancing with complete strangers, armed with candles in hand and hearts filled with pure love our beloved Sto. Niño, will surely not only please one’s self – but the dear Child Jesus as well.

INGREDIENTS

1	can (13.8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated classic pizza crust
7	sticks (1 oz each) string cheese
1/2	cup pizza sauce
24	slices pepperoni (from 3.5-oz package)
2	cups shredded Italian cheese blend (8 oz)

DIRECTIONS

1.	Heat oven to 425°F. Grease 12-inch pizza pan with shortening or cooking spray. Unroll dough; place in pan. Starting at center, press out dough to edge of pan, pressing up and extending over sides by at least 1 inch. Place string cheese around inside edge of crust. Fold extended edge of dough over cheese; pinch firmly to seal.
2.	Spoon sauce evenly over dough. Top with pepperoni and cheese blend.
